Areas of Expertise

Relationship-focused, culturally sensitive psychotherapy for individuals and couples. My work focuses on helping you understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and create new patterns in your life.

Couples Therapy

Building a more secure and connected relationship

I specialize in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT), an evidence-based, attachment-based approach that helps couples understand the deeper emotions and patterns underneath recurring conflicts.

Whether you are dating, developing a relationship, considering marriage, married, or navigating a long-term partnership, couples therapy can help you:

  • Understand the patterns that keep you stuck

  • Communicate with greater openness and understanding

  • Express your needs and emotions more clearly

  • Develop greater emotional safety and connection

  • Repair hurts and rebuild trust

  • Navigate cultural and family differences

I welcome couples from all backgrounds, including intercultural and interracial couples.

Individual Therapy

Understanding yourself and creating new patterns

Individual therapy is a space to slow down, listen to yourself, and better understand the patterns that shape your life and relationships.

I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) with somatic, attachment-based, and experiential approaches to help you connect with different parts of yourself with greater curiosity and compassion.

Together, we may explore:

  • Relationship patterns

  • Anxiety, overwhelm, or feeling stuck

  • Self-criticism and inner conflict

  • Life transitions and identity

  • Cultural and family expectations

  • Difficulty expressing your needs

  • Disconnection from your body, emotions, or desires

  • Repeating patterns that no longer serve you

The goal is not to get rid of parts of yourself, but to develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself and create greater freedom in how you respond to life.

Culturally Sensitive & Multicultural Therapy

Making sense of life between cultures

My own experience of living between cultures informs much of my work.

I work with people who are navigating questions of identity, belonging, family expectations, and relationships across cultures.

You may be:

  • A first-, 1.5-, second-, or third-generation immigrant

  • Raised by immigrant parents

  • In an intercultural or interracial relationship

  • Someone who grew up in international schools

  • A Third Culture Kid

  • A parent raising children between cultures

Therapy can provide a place to explore these experiences without having to choose one culture over another.

Young Adult Skill Building

Dating, Relationships, Work & Expression

For young adults, I offer practical and experiential support around:

Dating and relationships · Communication · Work · Self-expression · Giving and receiving emotional care

This work focuses on developing the skills and self-awareness needed to navigate relationships and adult life with greater confidence and authenticity.

I have been seeing Miho for 4 years.  You can not get any more authentic relationship than the one with her.  She is honest, funny, and insightful.  My life blossomed because of the support she has given me.
